Police: Youths Responsible for Burglary, Vandalism, Malicious Damage
An 18-year-old and a juvenile face charges stemming from alleged crime spree on East Butler Road, Mauldin Police reports say.

A spree of burglary and damage to three businesses on East Butler Road has landed a pair of youths in hot water, according to Mauldin Police.
Police said they arrested an unidentified 16-year-old Mauldin boy and have a warrant for the arrest of 18-year-old Dontavius Retrez Smith of Woodruff after the pair allegedly burglarized one business on East Butler on April 20, and attempted to burglarize and caused damages at two other nearby businesses, an incident report said.
The pair are alleged to have broken into Rainbow Paint on 102 E. Butler Road and taking $178 in cash and causing $400 in damage when they allegedly broke the store's window by shooting it out with either bullets or pellets, the report said.
Officers also noted damage to the nearby Aunt Pitty Pats Antiques in the same shopping center, which also appeared to have its window shot at with either bullets or pellets, the report said.
The pair also allegedly attempted to break into the World of Nails salon at 103 E. Butler Road by trying to use a cement block to bust in the door, the report said.
