POLL: Should the City of Mauldin Revoke Hailee's Business License?

Establishment has been a source of frustration for the city since being annexed

Since being annexed by the City of Mauldin last year, Hailee’s Sports Bar and Grill has been the subject of much attention from Mauldin City Police. Not much of that attention has been favorable. Yet judging from the crowds it draws on a regular basis, it is still a popular nightspot.

On Monday, the Mauldin City Council held a lengthy hearing to determine whether or not to revoke Hailee’s business license. During the course of which, Sonny Ninan, the owner of Hailee’s, admitted in testimony that the restaurant is not without its flaws, but those flaws do not mean the business should be labeled a nuisance. Should the license be revoked, Ninan’s attorney Robert Childs said it would have the effect of being a “death penalty.”

So, based on what you’ve heard, what do you think the city of Mauldin should do?
