Principal Named for New Middle School Under Construction

Jane Garraux will head Dr. Phinnize J. Fisher Middle School.

Jane Garraux has been appointed principal of the innovative new Dr. Phinnize J. Fisher Middle School, scheduled to open in August 2014 on the CU-ICAR/Millennium campus on the edge of Mauldin, Greenville County Schools announced.

She will begin her duties July 1, with responsibilities that include hiring faculty and support staff, overall school program development, and preparing the building for occupancy.

Garraux currently serves as principal at Maritime and Science Technology (MAST) Academy in Miami-Dade County Public Schools. MAST Academy is a nationally recognized, innovative school of choice with a marine theme for students in grades 8 through 12. 

She previously served as principal, assistant principal, administrative assistant, and teacher at various schools in Florida and South Carolina.  

Garraux, a graduate of Greenville Sr. High School, earned a bachelor’s degree from Winthrop University; a master’s degree from Nova Southeastern University; and, educational leadership degrees from Nova Southeastern University and Barry University.
