Safe, Cash Stolen From Mauldin Apartment Complex
Police report indicates theft might have been an inside job.

Mauldin Police are investigating who stole a safe and cash from Lexington Place Apartments, a police report said.
The property manager stated when she left work the night before she locked all the doors and set the alarm system, but found the alarm was not on when she returned the following morning, the report said.
Later in the day she noticed that a $400 safe and $163 in cash inside it were gone, the report said. The manager said only the employee staff knows where the safe is, the report said. And the manager stated that the safe has two keys, one she keeps in her possession and the other that is kept at her home.
A check with the complex's security system provider indicated there had not been any activation or deactivation signals since last month. The manager said she noticed a door to the outside was ajar, but said all doors had been closed and locked the night before, the report said.
Indications are that the theft might have been an inside job, and "person of interest" was identified to police, the report said.
