School Notes: Langston Charter Middle School
Important news and notes from Langston Charter, including a number of summer camps being offered to the public.

Spirit Week — Langston students raised $1,701.48 during Spirit Week. The money will go to the Teens’ Services Branch of the Greenville YMCA and the Children’s Hospital of Greenville.
Summer Camps — A variety of camps including Lego Robotics, computer programming, creative writing, math and much more will be offered at Langston this summer. Freedom Shrine Ceremony — The Exchange Club of Greenville is donating a Freedom Shrine to Langston in a ceremony to be held on May 15.
The Freedom Shrine contains copies of such things as the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and famous American speeches. Major General Lawrence W. Brock, III, commander of the 355th Signal Command will be the keynote speaker.

A graduate of The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, with a bachelor’s of science degree in Business Administration, Major General Brock’s military education spans numerous military schools including completion of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and U.S. Army War College.
Among his military awards are the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal (one oak leaf cluster), Meritorious Service Medal (two Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Commendation Medal and Army Achievement Medal (two Oak Leaf Clusters).
