Speech and Debate Team Wins State Tournament – Congratulations to the Langston Speech and Debate Team for winning first place in the 2013 South Carolina State Forensic Tournament held at Langston on March 9.

The team includes: Ankith Khandhavalli, Lauren Schmitt, Hew Kneeland, Aleeza Masood, Varsha Gopal, Sarim Masood, Tanner Street, Nikhil Vallabhaneni, Anish Chaluvadi, David Schmitt, Haseeba Karim, Hasna Karim, Aparna Mahendranath, Roann Abdeladl, Charlotte Capers Snoad, Raghed Tawab, Mathew Zemitis, Robert Yang and Johnny Jajack.

Seventy-five students from nine schools participated in the tournament. 

Advanced Writing Class for High School Students – A SAT and college prep advanced writing class will be offered this summer at Langston Charter Middle School for rising and current high school students.  Cost is $125, plus a $25 registration fee; dates and times to be determined.

Box Tops Contest – A new Box Tops contest is currently being held between Langston girls and boys.  Students must turn their Box Tops in to their homeroom teacher.
