Last night was a night of firsts for former Mauldin High and USC star Scott Wingo. Wingo had his first hit as a member of the Ogden Raptors and what a hit it was. He homered in the fourth innings as part of back-to-back homers with teammate James Baldwin. The run that Wingo drove in was also his first in Ogden. Wingo also reached base via walk.
Unfortunately, the Ogden pitching staff continued to struggle, allowing 11 runs to Orem in an 11-5 loss. The loss was the fourth straight for to Orem, who scored a total of 40 runs in the four-game series.
Ogden will do battle with Orem again tonight, but this time they will be in the friendly confines of Lindquist Field. Game time is 9 p.m. eastern, 7 local.
