Senior Night Success - Girls and Boys Best Boiling Springs

Girls win 19th, boys inch closer to .500.

The boys and girls basketball teams of ended a Spirit Week in style.

The girls opened the doubleheader with an easy win, 50-plus point win over Boiling Springs to move to an impressive 19-3 on the year.

The Lady Mavs can secure a No. 2 in the playoffs with a win at rival J.L. Mann on Tuesday. The girls finish the regular season at Hillcrest next Friday.

The boys game had a little more suspense. The Mavericks struggled early offensively and fell behind 11-6 after one. But Mauldin chipped into the lead and the game was nip and tuck the rest of the way. Trailing 44-43 midway through the fourth quarter, the Mavs went on a 17-2 run to clinch the victory. A three-pointer at the buzzer by Boiling Springs accounted for the final margin. Mauldin is now 10-11 on the year.

At halftime of the boys' game leaders of the Mauldin High student body announced they had for the Building Dreams Mentoring Program.
