Simpsonville Woman Hospitalized After Standoff With Police

Sustained self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Authorities have confirmed that Porecha Jenkins did sustain a self-inflected gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital. The severity of her injuries is not knoown but she police said she will be charged with discharging a firearm if and when she is released.

WYFF is reporting that a woman had police at a standoff for several hours on Saturday.

Police first arrived at the 400-block of Hudders Creek Way to serve Porecha Jenkins with outstanding warrants from Mauldin at 8:30 this morning but Jenkins was not home.

Police returned to the address and found a woman in the driveway and she threatened to shoot herself if anyone approached her vehicle.

Shortly after 1:15 p.m., a gunshot was reported from the vehicle.
