Sunday Looks to Be Another Scorcher
With temperatures continuing to climb above 100 degrees, finding a place to keep cool and to staying hydrated are important.

Scorching temperatures will welcome in the first day of July.
The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory throught 8 p.m. Sunday.
According to the weather service, the Upstate could see temperatures between 101 to 105 degrees with a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3 p.m.

Several cooling stations have been set up to help residents in Greenville County to stay cool:
The West Greenville and Nicholtown Community Centers will be open during the following hours from 2:30 to 7 p.m. Sunday.

Augusta Road Baptist Church has opened a cooling station at 1823 Augusta Street Open from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
The American Red Cross offers the following safety tips during a heat wave:
- NEVER leave children or pets alone in enclosed vehicles.
- Plan to limit outdoor activities to mornings and evenings.
- Stay indoors and avoid strenuous exercise during the hottest part of the day.
- Take frequent breaks if you must be outdoors. Wear loose-fitting, light weight clothing.
- Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids before, during and after being outdoors. Avoid caffeine and alcohol which make dehydration worse.
- Check on your elderly neighbors.
- Ensure your animals have water and shade.
