Club International Meeting – Tuesday, 1/17
There will be a Club International meeting after school on Tuesday, January 17 in Mrs. Noralee Robert's room.

Summer Job Opportunities – Tuesday, 1/17
On Tuesday, January 17, representatives from the Greenville County Parks and Recreation Department will be at Mauldin during all lunch shifts. They will be on site to talk with students about summer job opportunities. Please look for their table which will be located near the Guidance Office. If you are interested in a summer job with them, stop by during your lunch shift and talk to one of their representatives.

Mandatory Boys Lacrosse Parent Meeting – Wednesday, 1/18, at 6:30
All parents of boys lacrosse players should attend a mandatory boys lacrosse parent meeting on Wednesday, January 18 at 6:30 in the auditorium.

9th Grade Graduation Conferences to Begin January 19
Beginning January 19 - February 1, the Mauldin High School Guidance Department will conduct small group graduation planning conferences with all 9th graders. Students will receive individual notices of their conference times. Counselors will discuss graduation planning, college admissions, and career plans. Parents may attend the small group conferences or call their child's counselor for an appointment beginning February 2 - 8 to review information presented in the small group session.

Senior Parent Night – Tuesday, 1/24 at 6:30

Senior Parent Night will be Tuesday, January 24th at Mauldin High School in the Auditorium at 6:30 pm. The meeting will discuss the upcoming 2012 graduation and the Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA). Guest Speaker will be Janie Reid, Dean of Financial Aid at Greenville Technical College. Please email Mrs. Dalton Kelsey if you have questions or concerns at dkelsey@greenville.k12.sc.us. We hope to see you there.

Golden Strip Career Center Tours - February 13 & 14
To learn more about the course offerings at the Golden Strip Career Center, half of the tenth grade class will go on a field trip to the center on February 13, and the other half will go on February 14. All tenth graders are welcome to attend but it is not mandatory. Any tenth grader who does not want to attend this trip needs to sign the opt-out form in Guidance. Students must sign this form before Wednesday, February 8 if they do not want to go on this trip.

Need more space on your bookshelves? Consider donating books that your student used for an English class but no longer needs to the MHS Media Center!

SC Young Adult Book Award Nominee Pizza/Voting Party – Wednesday, 2/22
Have you read three 2011-2012 South Carolina Young Adult Book Award Nominees? If so, you are invited to a pizza party to vote for your favorite nominee on Wednesday, February 22. Stop by the media center to talk to Mrs. Patty Bynum about the three YABA books you have read and to pick up an invitation.

J.E. Sirrine Scholarship – Applications Available
The J.E. Sirrine Scholarship Program with Greenville County Schools
Who is Eligible to Apply? Any graduate of the class of 2012 of Greenville County public high school is eligible to apply.

• Take the ACT before December 10th or SAT before January 28th
• Your parents must complete the FAFSA before January 31st, in order for you to submit the Student Aid Report by April 15th, 2012.
• The Application must be complete, along with the school's recommendations (provided by your guidance counselor) before April 15th.

Amount: The amount will range between $200 and $2,000 depending upon a student's financial need. See Ms. Dalton Kelsey in guidance for a full-application

Community-wide SAT Practice Test at Greenville High on Saturday, 2/18 at 9 a.m..

Students may attend with a $10 donation. Scores will be available on February 27 at 5:30 p.m. during the SAT Strategy Seminar at Greenville High.

Students can pre-register by calling 1-800-KAP-TEST or by visiting Kaplan's website, www.kaptest.com.

2012 Yearbook Final Call!

If any student would like to purchase a 2012 yearbook, they must purchase online through Herff Jones. The link can be found on the MHS home page. The last day to order is Monday, January 16th for seniors who want their name on their yearbook and January 20th for all underclassmen.

Interested in being on a NATIONAL AWARD winning yearbook staff for 2012-13?
Yearbook Applications are now available for pick up from Mrs. Beth Ward in B136 before Wednesday, January 25 in order to have time to complete the application assignments.

2012 - 2013 Fine Arts Center Applications Now Being Accepted
Students interested in attending the Fine Arts Center during the 2012-2013 school year may begin the application process. Students must apply online at www.fineartscenter.net. The application deadline is January 27, 2012.

Spanish National Honor Society Meetings
SNHS Meetings will take place the third Thursday of each month at 8:10 a.m. in B125, Mrs. Shanna Yown's room. The dates are Jan 19, Feb 16, March 15, April 19, and May 17th.
