Driver's Education Sign-up - February 13 - 24
Beginning February 13, students may submit their names for consideration for enrolling in Driver’s Education for the 2012-2013 school year. Students must come to the guidance office and complete a request form. A drawing will be held for the available seats in the class. The absolute deadline to sign-up for the drawing is February 24 at 4:00 p.m. Driver’s Ed is a ½ unit course so students who get in automatically will be signed up for health which is also ½ unit. If selected, students will see the class added to their recommendations when they begin registration later in March. Students must then select the course. If the course is not listed as a recommendation in the portal when registration opens, the student did not get in and must sign up for another elective. The fee for the class is $150 and must be paid before the 5th class meeting. If the fee is not paid by the 5th day of class, you will be removed and placed in another elective course. Students must be 15 years old and must obtain a permit before being allowed to drive.
DMV Permit Test – Thursday, March 1st
The DMV Permit test will be offered in the Media Center on March 1, April 12, and May 1 at 7:45am. The test is open to any student, 14 1/2 years old or older. Please sign up in advance in Guidance.
GET AN INSURANCE QUOTE AND EARN MONEY FOR THE BOOSTER CLUB!
Allstate Insurance is selecting some schools to donate money to their sports programs. Since one of our Mauldin parents, Robin Fallon, works for Allstate on the national level, she has designated that money be donated to our Mauldin sports program! For every quote logged and tracked in their system the Mauldin MAVS Booster Club will be given a check.
Please follow the following procedure to help out our Mauldin Athletes:
1. You must call the following Allstate office only, 864-292-6825, ask for Robin Fallon.
2. You must say you are from, with, or associated with the Mauldin Booster Club.
3. You must provide information for a quote...not just call and say they are with Mauldin.
Between now and the end of the year any person receiving a life quote will be entered into a drawing for a gift card to be delivered the first week of Jan.
Every quote will be logged and tracked and given to Robin Fallon in a report and monthly a check will be made to Mauldin MAVS Booster Club. Donations will be made for quotes and if that quote results in business with Allstate then donation will be doubled. Per state and federal insurance laws, the donations made will comply with all insurance laws for such activity. All quotes and information will stay within that office and will not be shared with Allstate nationally for any advertising or mailing information.
Help our sports program, tell your neighbors and friends, and help earn some money for our Mauldin Maverick Athletes
