Marching Mavs in State Championship Finals!

and were able to perform twice as hoped for. This is the second year in a row that they have achieved this feat and the 3rd time in 5 years. The marching band also earned a Superior rating in every contest this season.

Maverick Christmas T-Shirts for Sale!
Operation Orange is selling a Maverick Christmas T-Shirt! It is such a cute T-shirt and just $12. Half of the profits will be donated to the Toys for Tots charity.

The shirt will be Christmas green in color and long sleeve. The Maverick head will be on the front in shiny silver wearing a Christmas hat with the caption underneath that says “Mavvy Christmas.” We are doing a pre-sale for this t-shirt from now until Friday, November, 18th. Presenting Three New English Teachers!
Beth Berry has taught English and European History for 20 years. She has served as a “reader” (grader) for the A.P. European history exam for the past two years. Mrs. Berry moved back to her hometown, Greenville, in 2008. She has a daughter who attends Converse College. She is very happy to be at Mauldin High!
Judy Tanner is a Louisiana State University graduate and an avid Tigers fan as well as an avid New Orleans Saint fan. Mrs. Tanner is married and has 2 children and 4 grandchildren. She is new to Mauldin, but Greenville was home for 16 years prior to a 7 year stint in North Charleston (Dorchester District 2). Judy loves reading, shopping and collecting angels.
Bethany Wiens may be an English teacher but she speaks French! Bethany is from Canada and move to Greenville in 2004. She is a classical pianist and loves to write.


Important College Deadlines
November 22, 2011 - Last day to request an official transcript from Mrs. Dalton Kelsey for Clemson or the University of South Carolina. Mrs. Kelsey will be out of the office on December 1st.
December 1st – Deadline for University of South Carolina and Clemson
Bad Boyz Book Club - Thursday, December 8 - All lunches
The next Bad Boyz Book Club meeting will be Thursday, December 8. We will be discussing our current book, Brothers in Arms. If you would like to join us, you may check out a book in the media center.

Fine Arts Center High School Visitation Day - Friday, 11/18
The Fine Arts Center is hosting a visitation day on November 18. Students interested in attending the Fine Arts Center next year may attend. Students must pick-up a Pre-Arranged Absence Form available in guidance and submit a signed copy to the attendance office. Parents may attend and students must provide their own transportation.

Sodexo Foundation Stephen J. Brady STOP Hunger Scholarships
Twenty to 25 scholarships ranging from $1,000-$5,000 will be awarded to K-12th grade students who have demonstrated ongoing involvement in hunger-related volunteer services. A third party recommendation is required in addition to student application. 2012 - 2013 Fine Arts Center Applications Now Being Accepted
Students interested in attending the Fine Arts Center during the 2012-2013 school year may begin the application process. Students must apply online at www.fineartscenter.net. The application deadline is January 27, 2012.

Spanish National Honor Society Meetings 
SNHS Meetings will take place the third Thursday of each month at 8:10 a.m. in B125, Mrs. Shanna Yown's room. The dates are Nov 17, Dec 15, Jan 19, Feb 16, March 15, April 19, and May 17th.
