ATTENTION TEACHERS AND PARENTS:
Have you linked your Bilo Bonus card to your Boostersplus card?
If you haven't, Mauldin is not earning the 1% back in cash rewards that we could be using for educational programs and supplies. Over 2200 BI-LO Boostersplus Cards were sent home in the first day packets but only 125 have been used to link the Bonus Card. It's as simple as this:
Take your Boostersplus card with you the next time you shop at BI-LO (If you've misplaced your card, more are available in the front office.) REMEMBER - Each household with a My BI-LO BONUSCARD can sign up for three organizations each program year.
- When you check out, ask the cashier to scan it along with your Bonuscard.
- Throw the Boostersplus card away (not the Bonus Card) or keep it to link your card next Fall. Your account is now linked so that MHS gets 1% cash in rewards so be sure to use your Bonuscard every time you shop!
Mauldin is one of the biggest schools in Greenville County. Let's show our community how supportive we are of it. Remember, not only will we earn money for our school but we are in the running for a Promethean Smart Board. Let's win it! Link your card today!!
CALLING ALL FREEZERS!
If anyone has an old refrigerator or freezer that is in good working condition the MAVS Booster Club could use it in their concessions. Please contact Gary Chew at gchew@ahold.com or dial 354-1605

Parent Portal Information
Once again this year Greenville County Schools has a unique tool to help you track information about your child. It is called the Parent Portal. This tool will help you be better informed about your child's academic performance, attendance and discipline.
If you used the portal last year, your user name and password are the same as you set it last year. This applies to any student who attended Greenville County Schools. So if you used the Parent Portal as an 8th grade parent or parent at another high school, you do not need another password. This initial user name and password you created will follow your child as long as s/he attends a school in Greenville County.
If you are new to our district or did not use the Parent Portal last year; you may pick-up your access ID and password in the Mauldin High School Guidance Office during regular hours of 8:00a.m. – 4:00p.m. See below.
In order to take advantage of this system, you must initially obtain an access ID and password. With this access ID and password, you can set up your own personal username and password to monitor your child's academics, attendance and much more. Because this information is sensitive, you must pick up the access ID and password in person at the MHS Guidance Office and show proper identification as requested. Information will only be released to legal biological parents or guardians (no step-parents unless the school has a signed document on file allowing the release of student information to the step-parent). The school will not email, mail or provide the information over the phone. Once you set-up your account, there is a user guide online to assist with features of this program.

MHS is in the running to be awarded a Promethean Smart Board but it all depends on YOU!
BI-LO Charities is awarding a Promethean Smart Board to the top ten schools with the highest total purchase amount from their enrolled supporters at the end of the 2011-12 year. The Promethean Board will be awarded in addition to the earned Boostersplus check for that period (the maximum amount for each half of the year is $1500.) Bilo Boosterplus cards and Publix Partners Cards were sent home in the first day packets.
Let's all be sure our school doesn't miss out on this opportunity.
Do your part, put your cards on your key chain and start using them today!
(Additional cards may be picked up in the front office and will be available at Open House, Monday, August 29th.)
MAVS BOOSTER CLUB - BUY YOUR MEMBERSHIP NOW
Mauldin High is blessed to have great coaches and programs available to our students. The MAVS Booster Club supports the entire athletic program of Maudlin High School and each of its athletic teams. This year Coach Frady has designated that $319,547 is the amount needed to fund our programs. Out of that amount the district covers $243,503 leaving $76,044 for the Booster Club to raise.
One of the best ways to support our teams is to buy a Booster Club Membership. Purchasing a membership makes you a Booster Club member and shows your support to our program. All families who have athletes that play for a team should be a member of the booster club. You can join simply by making a $25.00 donation, but a membership at a higher level will earn you more benefits.
The best way for our students to show support is to buy a Student Membership. By paying $50.00 students get an All-Sport pass that pays for their entrance into all regular season home games for ALL SPORTS. This is over 200 events. If students buy this membership the money goes directly to the Booster Club to support our Mauldin athletes only and students can show up at as many events as they want to cheer our teams on. Similar memberships are available this year for Seniors and also for adults with the Orange Maverick.
For families who attend more than one sport the Silver Membership is for you. For $250.00 you receive 2 All Sport Passes, but your student also receives $75.00 off of their team shoes that they purchase during the year. For teams that do not buy shoes, the team decides on another item. Last year the swim team used the funds to purchase their swimsuits and boy's lacrosse used it for their gloves. Silver Members are entitled to reserved seating and parking at the football games. Also for the first time ever, if a Silver Member has a 1st to 8th grader, families can buy a Lil' Mavs pass for $25.00. If families attended 12 home events, this is nearly a break even for the family.
12 events x $6.00 per ticket = $72.00 x two people = $144.00
Money off of shoes 75.00
Total value not even counting reserved seating 19.00
Additional savings if you have a Lil' MAV: 72-25 = 47.00
Value from the pass $266.00
If you buy the pass all funds go to directly support our Mauldin Athletes. Please consider buying a membership today. The blitz on August 21st was a great time to turn in your application but applications can be turned into the front office at any time.
Here is this year's membership application: http://static.gomavs.net/q/uploads/files/2011/Aug/05/2011-2012_Booster_Club_Membership_Application.pdf
Electronics Recycled Here!
Got clutter? Consider recyling your:
- Cell Phones
- Inkjet & Laser Cartridges
- iPods
- Video Games & Consoles
- DVDs
- Digital Cameras
- PDAs
- Laptops
The MHS Media Center will send them to Recycle Forward. Recycling will earn MHS school cash to buy new technology.
Turn Your Unwanted Phones Into Cash for Our Athletes
Do you have any unwanted cell phones at home? Our athletes sure could put them to good use. Simply bring in the old phone, working or not working, and put it in the collection box in the school office. The MAVS Booster Club will then turn them over to an organization that will pay us from $1 to $10 for each cell phone donated. That organization then refurbishes the phones and gives them to charitable organizations. Your unwanted phones could help literally seed a field at Mauldin High this year so please collect and bring in your phones today. Phones will be collected during the rest of this year.
