The Yearbook Picture Proofs are Back!! Orders due by 9/9!

Proof envelopes were given to English teachers to distribute on 8/31. Student orders should be returned with PAYMENT to Beth Ward/room B136 no later than Sept. 9.

Underclassmen Make-up pictures will be on Sept. 20 in the auditorium.

ATTENTION TEACHERS AND PARENTS:
Have you linked your Bilo Bonus card to your Boostersplus card?

If you haven't, Mauldin is not earning the 1% back in cash rewards that we could be using for educational programs and supplies.  Over 2200 Bilo Boostersplus Cards were sent home in the first day packets but only 125 have been used to link the Bonus Card. It's as simple as this:

Take your Boostersplus card with you the next time you shop at Bilo. (If you've misplaced your card, more are available in the front office.) REMEMBER - Each household with a My BI-LO BONUSCARD can sign up for three organizations each program year.

1. When you check out, ask the cashier to scan it along with your Bonuscard.
2. Throw the Boostersplus card away (not the Bonus Card) or keep it to link your card next Fall. Your account is now linked so that MHS gets 1% cash in rewards so be sure to use your Bonuscard every time you shop!

Mauldin is one of the biggest schools in Greenville County. Let's show our community how supportive we are of it.  Remember, not only will we earn money for our school but we are in the running for a Promethean Smart Board.  Let's win it!  Link your card today!!

PICK UP YOUR BOOSTER CLUB PASSES IN THE OFFICE AFTER SCHOOL ON THURSDAY

Leigh Sharp will be in the office this Thursday after school to distribute booster club passes.  If you have not picked up your passes yet, please do so.

Remember we ask all football parents to work one concession event during the football season.  C team parents - work either JV or Varsity concessions; JV - C team or Varsity concessions; and Varsity - a C Team or JV event.

Queens College Visits Mauldin High
Students interested in Queens College can sign up in the front of Guidance to meet with an admission counselor who will be on campus Sept. 14.  

Lady Mavs Tennis Win First Match

Your Lady Mavs Tennis team won their first match defeating Greenville 5-2. Ansley Speaks, Haley Elliott, Sydney Patton, Lexi Stewart, Alex Patton and Hayley Behal all had wins for the Mavs. Way to go ladies.

Need a pen? Your last pencil snapped in half in your backpack? Wish you had a mechanical pencil? Pens, pencils and mechanical pencils are now available for 25 and 50 cents in the media center. Just look for the gray dispensers on the circulation desk!

Do you have an interest in a healthcare profession?  Greenville Hospital System would like to invite you to become a member of the Medical Explorer Program.  For more information, please see Mrs. Greshan Charlton in the guidance office

Beta Club Applications Due Friday, 9/9
Ninth, tenth, and eleventh graders who are interested in joining the Beta Club should apply by Sept. 9. Applications are available on the Beta Club page of the MHS website.  All applications are due to Mrs. Alyson Nelson in Room B315 no later than Friday, Sept. 9. See Mrs. Nelson if you have any questions.

Parent Portal Information
Once again this year Greenville County Schools has a unique tool to help you track information about your child. It is called the Parent Portal. This tool will help you be better informed about your child's academic performance, attendance and discipline.

If you used the portal last year, your user name and password are the same as you set it last year. This applies to any student who attended Greenville County Schools. So if you used the Parent Portal as an 8th grade parent or parent at another high school, you do not need another password. This initial user name and password you created will follow your child as long as s/he attends a school in Greenville County

If you are new to our district or did not use the Parent Portal last year; you may pick-up your access ID and password in the Mauldin High School Guidance Office during regular hours of 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. See below.

In order to take advantage of this system, you must initially obtain an access ID and password. With this access ID and password, you can set up your own personal username and password to monitor your child's academics, attendance and much more.  Because this information is sensitive, you must pick up the access ID and password in person at the MHS Guidance Office and show proper identification as requested.  Information will only be released to legal biological parents or guardians (no step-parents unless the school has a signed document on file allowing the release of student information to the step-parent). The school will not email, mail or provide the information over the phone.  Once you set-up your account, there is a user guide online to assist with features of this program.
