Two Mauldin Residents Involved in Fatal Crash

Occurred on I-85 in Cherokee County

A two-car crash last night that killed a Connecticut man sent two Mauldin residents two Spartanburg Regional Medical Center with injuries.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, 26-year-old Vasu Reddy and 28-year-old and Sunid Lhe, both of Mauldin, were passengers in a 1992 Saturn driven by a 28 year-old Connecticut man.

Authorities said the vehicle was traveling northbound on I-85 in Cherokee when it swerved into the southbound lane and struck a 2007 Dodge driven and occupied by two Georgia men.

The collision killed the driver of the Saturn, who has not been identified pending notification of family. Reddy and Lhe, as well as the occupants of the Dodge, were taken to Spartanburg Medical Center and treated for injuries. All persons involved in the crash were wearing seatbelts.

The severity of the injuries is not known at this time.
