Veterans Group to Unveil New Korean War Memorial

Korean War Veterans Association's ceremony is Saturday at Conestee Park.

The Korean War Veterans Association, Foothills Chapter of SC #301, is inviting the public to the dedication of the new Korean War Veterans Memorial on Saturday June 1, 11 a.m. in Conestee Park, 840 Mauldin Rd.

The Memorial also includes an Honors Walkway of engraved memory bricks. New bricks may still be purchased from any member at $50 for a single brick and $75 for a double brick.

Members of the Foothills Chapter have been raising funds for more than two years with great response from the Greenville community. Donations may be sent by mail to the Foothills Chapter of SC #301, P.O. Box 6903, Greenville, SC 29606.

The Foothills Chapter of SC #301 is a member of the 17,000 member National Korean War Veterans Assoc. Inc. (KWVA) chartered in Washington, DC and certified by the SC Secretary of State as a 501-C non profit organization. Membership in the KWVA is open to any person, male or female, of any branch of the military, who served honorably on land, sea or in the air, in the defense of the Republic of South Korea from 1945 to the present.

The Foothills Chapter meets at 12:30 pm on the 2nd Thursday each month, except July, at the Golden Corral 3240 N. Pleasantburg Dr. Greenville. Come earlier for lunch and fellowship. All Korean War Veterans are welcome.
