Dominick Abbate is proud to be part of the Ron Paul crusade

If passion showed up in polling Ron Paul would be the frontrunner for the GOP nomination.

When Paul ran for president in 2008 his acolytes became known for their vociferous support of the Texas congressman. And now that Paul is running again in 2012 his supporters have become even more vocal and even more enthusiastic and it once again cuts across demographic lines.

Dominick Abbate, owner of on Miller Road in Mauldin, is one such supporter. For proof, just visit his business, which is filled with Ron Paul signs, slogans and literature. Abbate had never been much for politics until he happened upon a Paul rally in Greenville in the last election cycle, when he was immediately captivated. As a small business owner, he has felt the economic downturn as much as anyone. He's gone from 35 employees to 20, 10 of whom are contractors. He feels that the course of the country needs to change, and that Paul is just the person to do it.

In a recent poll of insiders, many political experts admitted they agreed with Paul, but proclaimed him unelectable. Abbate urges voters to ignore such talk and on Jan. 21, vote the candidate who, in his mind, has the most integrity — Ron Paul.
