Scott Wingo's season came to an end last night. His Ogden Raptors lost to Great Falls 7-1 in game two of the Pioneer League Championship Series. It was Great Falls second win in the best-of-three series and gives them the league title.
Wingo finished the year batting .275 with four homers and 17 RBI in 32 games for the Raptors. His 37 runs scored gave him an average of more than one run scored per game. Strong numbers considering his 0-for-18 start.
Wingo batted first and played second base for much of his time with the Raptors. His ability to get on base--he had a remarkable on-base percentage of .464--was a key to the Raptors success. Wingo also stole seven bases and was named Ogden's top defensive player.

Given his performance, it seems likely that Wingo will advance up the Dodgers farm system next season. The next level up from Ogden would be the Great Lakes Loons in Midland, MI in Class A who play in the Midwest League.
