A Break from Bad Weather Today

After a soggy weekend, Monday provides temporary relief.

Monday's forecast calls for mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the 70s. It's a welcomed respite from a soggy weekend that ended with record rainfall and high wind gusts.

But the relief may just be temporary. The forecast later in the week calls for more overcast skies and the potential for rain.

Sunday's 1.28 inches of rain broke an 8-year-old rainfall record, according to the national weather service. Winds gusted up to 30 mph in some parts and caused rough seas.

Today's forecast, however, provides some relief. There's only a slight chance of thunderstorms and forecasters predict partly sunny conditions. Tuesday's forecast, however, holds a greater chance for rain that may persist until Thursday of this week.
