Big Chunk of Land up for Sale
Property between Mount Pleasant Towne Center and two neighborhoods goes on market.

A six-acre parcel of land wedged between Mount Pleasant Towne Centre and two Rifle Range Road neighborhoods is on the market.
The property, with frontage on Hungryneck Boulevard, is listed as a commercial tract good for retail, hospitality and residential uses. It has a $4.2 million price tag, according to the Realtor's web site.
The property is currently zoned for apartments, however, and it abuts two large residential developments, Sweetgrass at Millcreek and Hidden Lakes.

No one has submitted development plans to the town, and it appears the property was just listed on the market Friday. Building anything other than residential units on the property would require a rezoning application. The for-sale property has a significant buffer between it and the two neighborhoods.

That rezoning process on another property in the vicinity of Towne Centre set of a hailstorm of controversy earlier this year.
That developer still plans a massive retail development on 40 acres of land on Hwy. 17, just around the corner from this property. Town council recently voted to erase 16-year-old rules that barred large retail developments over 70,000 square feet on tracts of land smaller than 50 acres.
