Charleston County Sheriff’s Office Detectives are investigating the discovery of a body found this morning floating in the Charleston Harbor near the jetties across from Sullivan’s Island.
At approximately 6:23 a.m. a boater contacted 911 advising of a body being located in the water, Sullivan’s Island Rescue, Isle of Palms Rescue, Charleston County Sheriff’s Office Marine Patrol and the US Coast Guard responded. The Body was recovered shortly after 7 a.m.
Detectives and the Charleston County Coroner’s Office are investigating the incident to determine the identity of the deceased and the circumstances that led to the death.
