Conference Planned to Help Job Seekers

SeaCoast Church will host Oct. 20 conference.

A free career conference designed to help job seekers restart their lives is planned for Oct. 20 in Mount Pleasant.

The event, set for SeaCoast Church, will help individuals in the following areas:

  • Career continuation or change strategy
  • Resume writing techniques
  • Networking skills
  • Job interviewing tips and strategies

Guest speakers include Shawn Jenkins, CEO of global technology giant BenefitFocus and Chip Judd, pastor, family counselor and life coach at Seacoast Church.

Workshop leaders include seasoned professionals from the community with a broad range of experience and skills.

When: October 20, 2012 7:30 AM – 2:30 PM
Where: Seacoast Church, 750 Long Point Road, Mount Pleasant
Registration: This event is open to anyone living in Charleston area.
Price: The event is free, but participants must register online to attend.

The event will provide hands-on job-search guidance while also boosting morale through inspirational messages, organizers said.

“We felt that individuals in the community really needed help and ongoing support in their job search,” said Tom Young, one of the event organizers.

“Very few people have ever had professional help setting up their job search. … We will also provide two great messages of hope and courage.”

About the Group
ReStart is a volunteer group made up of individuals and professionals of all ages from diverse industries and backgrounds.  The goal of the group is to create a community of job seekers, program graduates and supporters that learn and grow together.
