Deputies Arrest Man Wanted for Drugs

Suspect was subject of six-month drug probe.

Charleston County Sheriff's deputies have arrested a man wanted by local, state and federal authorities for various drug charges.

Terry Clarida, 26, was taken into custody this week in North Charleston. Police had been searching for him since Oct. 11 when three alleged accomplices were taken into custody.

Clarida was wanted on outstanding warrants as a result of a six-month-long collaborative drug investigation conducted by the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, Mount Pleasant Police and ATF in the Mount Pleasant areas of “Ten Mile,” White Hall Terrace and Copahee Neighborhoods, according a sheriff's news release.

Clarida was charged with four counts of distribution of cocaine base, one count of distribution of heroin, one count of distribution of cocaine base (a Mount Pleasant charge), felon in possession of a firearm (ATF charge) and distribution of cocaine base (ATF charge), according to the sheriff.
