Crowded schools will result in student shuffle.

Mount Pleasant elementary and middle school students will likely experience a shuffle in the 2013-14 school year due to overcrowding at a handful of schools.
Officials are studying the situation, and there will be plenty of comment and notice, according to one report, but the move is necessary because several schools — especially those in the Park West area — are seriously overcrowded.
“We’ve just been avoiding it as long as we could, and we no longer can do that,” Marty Belk, chairwoman of the constituent school board, told the Post and Courier. “You can never satisfy everyone, and it’s very, very difficult.”

Laurel Hill Elementary, for example, has 1,150 students currently but was only intended to house 792 students, the newspaper reports.
The situation will be eased by two school re-builds, Laing Middle and Jennie Moore Elementary, but those projects are still in planning and won't be complete until the 2015-16 school year.
