Girl Scouts Pack Patriots Point
More than 1,500 in town for Girl Scouts 100th anniversary.
Girl Scouts and their families from all over South Carolina are in Mount Pleasant today to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Girl Scouting.
The group began their day with a 7 a.m. "bridging" ceremony where groups of 20 crossed the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge. Roughly 700 girls will participate in the bridging event on Saturday.
Bridge-crossing ceremonies often mark momentous occasions in the Girl Scouts. Sunday is the official 100th anniversary, which will be marked all over the country, including at Scouts' founder Juliet Gordon Low's birthplace in Savannah.
