Girl Scouts Plan Huge March
Saturday event on Ravenel Bridge commemorates 100th anniversary of scouts.

Roughly 700 South Carolina Girl Scouts will take their first steps into a new century on the Ravenel Bridge Saturday as part of the celebration of the organization’s 100th birthday.
Girl Scouts of Eastern South Carolina, in partnership with Patriots Point, will hold "Bridging to the Next Century" on March 10. It will be the largest commemoration of its kind in state.
The event will feature Girl Scouts walking across the bridge in groups of 20. A daylong program at Patriots Point will feature girls dressed in replica 1912 uniforms and will conclude with a fireworks display.

The event will include Miss South Carolina USA Erika Powell and former Girl Scout and Naval aviator Kim Jackson.
March 12 marks the 100th anniversary of Girl Scouting. The organization was founded in Savannah by Juliet Gordon-Low.
