Hobby Lobby Opens Monday

Craft mega-store opens Oct. 1 with ribbon cutting.

Ready your glue gun and scissors, Hobby Lobby opens Monday in Mount Pleasant.

The Oklahoma-based craft retailer, famous for craft supplies for just about every project and ubiquitous 30, 50 and 75 percent off sales, will open its 55,000-square-foot Mount Pleasant store on Oct. 1, according to a company news release.

The store plans a 9 a.m. ribbon cutting in its newly built location in the Six Mile Marketplace at Six Mile Road and U.S. 17.

“We are very excited to bring new jobs, quality merchandise, and exceptional value and selection to the Mount Pleasant community; and we look forward to giving customers a unique and enriched experience in the crafts and home décor market,” stated John Schumacher, Assistant Vice President of Advertising.

The Mount Pleasant store is Hobby Lobby's first location in the Charleston market and its 12th store in the state. It operates 500 stores nationwide, selling 65,000 crafting and home decor products in its stores.

Departments include floral, fabric, needlework, picture framing, baskets, home accents, arts and crafts, wearable art, jewelry and scrapbooking supplies. Store hours are Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and all Hobby Lobby stores are closed on Sunday.
