Last Local Blockbuster Closing
Chain plans mass store closings nationwide, including the last location in Mount Pleasant

Blockbuster is closing more than 300 stores across the country, including its last Mount Plesant location, according to media reports.
The video store chain has struggled in recent years as home entertainment habits shifted, and competitors such as RedBox and Netflix swiped at its customer base.
Blockbuster will keep only about 500 stores in the U.S., according to reports. It will continually monitor those for profitability and close stores that aren't in the black, according to a spokesman.
