Libertarian VP Cadidate to Speak in Mount Pleasant
Jim Gray to speak Saturday at Patriots Point.

The Libertarian candidate for Vice President of the United States will speak Saturday aboard the USS Yorktown at Patriots Point in Mount Pleasant.
California Superior Court Judge Jim Gray, the party's VP nominee, speaks at 8 p.m. Saturday, preceded by four Libertarian candidates for local and federal office. The three-hour rally is billed as the South Carolina Libertarian Party's Liberty Rally.
Admission is free. The event starts at 6 p.m. and will conclude with a candidate meet and greet.

Gray shares the top of the Libertarian Party's national ticket with former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson. Gray is an outspoken opponent of the "War on Drugs" and favors the legalization of marijuana.
A former Republican, he ran unsuccessfully for U.S. Senate in 1998 before joining the Libertarian Party. He ran unsuccessfully again for Senate in 2004. The party nominated him for vice president earlier this year.
