Christmas Light Parade and Tree Lighting set for December 9.

Holiday events and activities are already underway in Mount Pleasant. Here's a listing of what's on tap this Christmas season.

Holiday Ice Skating • November 15-18
An all-weather ice-skating rink has been installed at Belle Hall Shopping Center. It's free, but skate rentals are $6. Visit www.shopbellehall.com for a $1 off coupon.

Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis • December 8
The annual run steps off at Roper St. Francis Mount Pleasant Hospital. The group hopes to raise $29,000 for arthritis research. For registration details, visit the oranizer's website.

Holiday Market and Craft Show • December 8
The town's Farmer's Market opens for one day December 8 for a special holiday crafts fair. The event features Christmas ornaments and other crafts made my local artisans. The Farmer's Market is on the campus of Moultrie Middle School on Coleman Boulevard. Read more.

Christmas Light Parade and Tree Lighting • December 9
The town's signature holiday event takes place December 9 when floats participate in an evening light parade down Coleman Boulevard. The parade starts around 5:30 p.m. The event is capped with a tree-lighting and fireworks show at Moultrie Middle School. See a video from last year's event.

Holiday Movie in the Park • December 14
Cinnebarre's giant inflatable screen moves to the Park West Recreation Center for an evening movie. Bring your lawn shares, blankets and be prepared to bundle up if it's cold. Concessions will be sold. The movie starts at 6:30 p.m.
