1. Town forges on with Coleman Blvd. bike lanes (postandcourier.com) — Mount Pleasant is moving ahead with a major bike-lane expansion along West Coleman Boulevard, aiming to create a safer, continuous corridor from the Ravenel Bridge toward the beaches. Backed by a $1.25 million state grant, the project includes resurfacing, restriping, new bike signals, and design work over the next two years to improve safety for cyclists and pedestrians.
   

2. Future plans for a new Food Forest and Community Garden in Mount Pleasant (live5news.com) — Mount Pleasant officials are exploring a new Food Forest and Community Garden at the R.L. Jones Center that would offer free produce, educational programs, and a peaceful green space. The perennial garden is still in the planning stages, but leaders say it could support local food banks, wildlife, and neighborhood connections while giving residents a hands-on way to enjoy nature.
   

3. Mount Pleasant considers adding mini roundabouts in the Old Village (counton2.com) — Mount Pleasant officials are weighing mini roundabouts on Center Street and McCants Drive in the Old Village after years of speeding complaints. A 90-day traffic study will come first, with residents split over roundabouts versus speed bumps, stop signs, or more police but united in wanting safer streets for walkers, drivers, and families.
   

4. Some Lowcountry restaurants temporarily close for renovations (wspa.com) — Several popular Mount Pleasant spots, including Home Team BBQ and Shem Creek’s Saltwater Cowboys, are briefly closing this month for mostly cosmetic renovations. Some are keeping take-out options open and expect to reopen within a week or two, while others target later upgrades this spring and will share exact dates on social media.
   

5. Wendy's exits busy Mount Pleasant corridor after 40 years (postandcourier.com) — A Wendy’s that served Mount Pleasant for 40 years in the Sea Island Shopping Center at Ben Sawyer and Chuck Dawley boulevards has closed, with signs now posted on the doors. The shutdown leaves just two Wendy’s locations in East Cooper, while others continue operating across the Charleston region.
