Patriots Point Hosting Pearl Harbor Observance

Former Naval Station Pearl Harbor commander to speak.

Patriots Point on Friday will note the 71st anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

An 11 a.m. ceremony aboard the USS Yorktown will feature comments from Capt. Thomas Bailey, Deputy Commander, Joint Base Charleston and special guest remarks by retired U.S. Navy Capt. Taylor Skardon, former Commanding Officer, Naval Station Pearl Harbor.

The commemoration ceremony is in partnership with Mount Pleasant VFW Post 10624. Expected to attend are representatives from the South Carolina Pearl Harbor Survivors Association, including two Pearl Harbor survivors.

The public is invited to attend this ceremony free of charge, but normal $5 parking fees apply.
