Police Investigate Mount Pleasant Armed Robbery
Police seek suspects in the latest of a spate of robberies.

Mount Pleasant Police are investigating the latest of three of armed robberies in the town. The hold-up occurred just after midnight at a convenience store targeted earlier in the week, according to reports.
None of the reported crimes have followed a defined pattern.  The latest appeared to involve a team of four robbers who demanded cash and stole merchandise, according to a police incident report.
Here are the other recent robbery reports:
June 17, 2013: Refuel at Venning and Rifle Range roads.
June 21, 2013: Kangaroo Express at Highway 17 near Highway 41.Â
June 11, 2013: Man charged in ATM armed robbery.
The clerk at the Kangaroo Express at the intersection of Highways 17 and 41 activated the store's panic button just as two men entered the store. Both were wearing masks and one man had a pistol, the clerk told police.
As one man demanded cash, the other stuffed a pillow case with merchandise, according to the report. Both suspects fled the scene and vanished into a wood line.
Police were able to get descriptions of the suspects from the clerk, a witness and the store's surveillance cameras. Detectives are searching for two black men, described as having dark skin, standing between 5 feet 5 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall. Here's how they are described:
Suspect 1: Wore a green baseball cap, white cloth covering his face, green jacket, black undershirt, blue jeans and dark tennis shoes.
Suspect 2: Wore a black ski mask, black tank top, blue jeans, rubber gloves and dark Converse "Chuck Taylor" style shoes.Â
The Mount Pleasant Police Department is requesting anyone with information regarding the suspect’s identity, or information related to this incident, to please contact detectives at 843-884-4176. Â
