St. Patrick's Day, named for the patron Saint Patrick who is said to have brought Christianity to Ireland, for larger cities like Savannah, Chicago and New Orleans, is a time to host wild parities and parades.

Some celebrate by dressing in green clothing, eating foods dyed green and drinking green beer.

But keep in mind the wearing of green is not actually an Irish custom, according to History.com. The wearing of green started in the United States, as the color green is actually unlucky in Ireland.

The great thing about St. Patrick's Day is that you don't have to be Irish to celebrate.

Who serves up corned beef and cabbage? Is there a place to listen to Irish music or to learn an Irish dance? Where can you buy a pint of green beer?
