Road Closure Tonight for U.S. 17 at U.S. 41

Starting tonight, 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m., and again on Thursday at the same times, the intersection of US 17 and US 41 in Mount Pleasant will be closed to all but US 17 southbound through traffic. This interchange closure is necessary to build up asphalt within the intersection.

Detour signs are in place to direct drivers around the closure:

US 41 traffic traveling to and from US 17 is being re-routed to the old US 17/US 41 Intersection at the Greater Goodwill AME Church and KFC.

US 17 Northbound through traffic is being detoured right at Hamlin Road, left onto Riffle Range Road and left onto Porchers Bluff Road back to US17N. US 17 Northbound traffic wishing to turn onto US 41 should turn left just after Hamlin Road and before the KFC. US 41 traffic wanting to go north on US 17 will be directed to the detour route at Hamlin Road.

US 17 Southbound through traffic will be reduced to a single lane and allowed to proceed through the closed US 41 Intersection. Southbound traffic wishing to turn onto US 41 should proceed through the closed intersection to just after the BP station where they can turn right onto US 41.
