The man arrested early Monday on homicide charge is accused of stabbing his 45-year-old father to death in a Mount Pleasant motel room, according to a police incident report.
Elias James Walker, 22, initially told officers that he left the Fort Moultrie Motel room he shared with this father, Anthony Walker, for just 15 minutes. When he returned from his beer run, the younger Walker found his father with a large cut from his head to his neck, a report states.
Officers suspected something was amiss in Elias Walker's story from the start. First, he appeared unusually calm for someone who had just walked in a homicide scene, officers wrote.

And despite saying he had just returned from the store, he was not wearing shoes and his socks were wet with blood, officers wrote. Officers recovered a small pocket knife from the suspect's pants pocket, but it wasn't clear if that was the suspected murder weapon.
Walker told police that everyone at the Stuart Engles Blvd. motel hated his father, the report states. He even pointed out a few rooms of possible suspects.

But police found no signs of forced entry into the hotel room, and the elder Walker was apparently the only person who had a key to the room.
Officers took Elias Walker back to the police department for questioning. The report does not state what happened while the suspect was being questioned, but police ended up charging Walker with one count of murder.
He was not granted bond when he appeared in court Monday, court records indicate.
