Speak Out: Is Mom to Blame for America's Decline?
Mississippi governor attributes national decline on moms entering the workforce.

America's decline started when moms entered the workforce. That's the controversial view expressed by Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant while speaking Tuesday at a Washington Post Live event.
Bryant was responding to a question about when America became so "mediocre," but his reply raised eyebrows. "I think both parents started working," Bryant said. "The mom got in the work place."
He backtracked some, saying that "both parents" lack the time now to truly invest in the education of their children, but he admitted that his comments would likely be controversial. Watch a video of the controversial statement.
