St. Maarten Murder Suspect Identified
Media reports: Man accused of killing Mount Pleasant couple may not have acted alone.

Police have recovered from a suspect a cell phone and credit card belonging to Michael King, the Mount Pleasant man killed along with his wife, Thelma, last week in St. Maarten, according to media reports.
Police found the items in a vehicle reportedly used in a restaurant hold-up earlier in the day Sept. 19, according to the St. Maarten News Network.
Meyshane Kemar Johnson, the suspect arrested Sunday, reportedly borrowed a friend's vehicle to rob the restaurant. Police pursued the suspect and reportedly fired a shot at the fleeing vehicle.

A friend called police to report a bullet hole and suspicious items in the car, the news site reports. Johnson, 28, exchanged gunfire with police again when he was arrested, police said. He wounded an officer and required medical treatment himself.
Johnson was reportedly a security guard for a company that provides protection to several resorts on the island, including the one in which the Kings were staying. The security company says Johnson was not assigned to the property at the time of the homicide.

Citing anonymous sources, the news site reports St. Maarten authorities are searching for a second suspect in the King homicide.
The Kings' remains will be released to family today following forensic testing, according to a police statement. Authorities have reportedly been in touch with the King family who are in St. Maarten, CBS News reports.
The couple was found dead Friday condominium. Both suffered fatal stab wounds, CBS reports. Johnson is expected in court today for arraignment.
When in Mount Pleasant, the couple stayed in a condo at Tolers Cove. The couple had business interests in St. Maartin, the Dutch-French island territory of roughly 50,000 residents.
