• Anglers had 2 days to catch red snapper off SC's coast this year. They want a much longer season. (newsfromthestates.com) — Murrells Inlet lawmakers are helping lead a push to dramatically extend South Carolina’s red snapper season, arguing anglers face unsafe conditions when limited to just two midsummer days. The proposal, backed by conservation and boating groups, would create a 62‑day pilot season with strict limits and mandatory catch reporting, aiming to improve fish population data while boosting the coastal fishing economy.
