• Former North Myrtle Beach restaurant being demolished. What's going in its spot? (myrtlebeachonline.com) — A longtime Main Street landmark in North Myrtle Beach, the former Duffy Street Seafood Shack, is being demolished to make way for a major new mixed-use project. Melt ice cream will relocate into a larger flagship space, alongside a new family-focused restaurant and up to 24 future retail and dining tenants, with phased construction running through 2027 and added parking near Fat Harold’s and SkyBar.
   

• Foundation poured for new North Myrtle Beach fire station (wmbfnews.com) — A new North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue Station 7 is moving forward on Water Tower Road, with the foundation already poured for both the fire facility and an on-site police substation. When it opens, likely in early 2027, it will add a second staffed ladder truck, a brush truck, and wildfire-fighting equipment to better protect nearby neighborhoods and the Lewis Ocean Bay Heritage Preserve.
   

• Lions donate food for Christmas - North Myrtle Beach Times (nmbtimes.com) — Little River Lions Club members, with help from North Myrtle Beach High School students, collected 2,625 pounds of food for the North Strand Helping Hands Food Bank’s Christmas distribution. Volunteers canvassed Hidden Lakes Village and Lafayette Park with donation bags, turning this annual drive into a growing community tradition supported by local grocery stores and generous neighbors.
