What's up this week in the Golden Strip? We've got you covered with the places you need to be and when.

It's Monday, and that means we've put together this list of things going on in the Golden Strip to help make your week a little brighter, easier and more fun.
1. Maria Tinti conducts a free aerobics class from 5-6:30 p.m. Mondays in Building 2 at the Center for Community Services, 1102 Howard Drive, Simpsonville. Contact Janine Sutter at 864-688-2246.
2. The second annual Golden Strip Relay for Life will be 5-11 p.m. Aug. 9 on Main Street, Fountain Inn. The fundraiser for the American Cancer Society will include food, music and plenty of walking. Call Susan Ruffner at 864-408-9755, Ext. 32.

3. Movie in the Park is Thursday, Aug. 8 at Heritage Park in SImpsonville. Come see that animated family film, "Happy Feet Two." Gates open at 7:30 p.m., show starts at 9 p.m. There will be inflatables and concessions available. You can bring your own cooler, chair, or blanket. (No alcohol)
4. The Simpsonville Farmers Market is open 8 a.m.-noon Saturdays at City Park on East Curtis Street. Call 864-360-4957. Plus… A farmers market is open from 8 a.m.-noon Saturdays through August at the Anglican Church of St George the Martyr, 427 Batesville Road, Simpsonville. Vendors will sell jams, eggs, baked goods and fresh vegetables.

5. Children ages 6-11 are invited to participate in Camp Kaleidoscope through Aug. 9 at Bell’s Crossing Elementary School, 804 Scuffletown Road, Simpsonville. For details, call 864-288-6470 or visit greenvillerec.com.
6. The Iron Horse, a miniature train replica of an early vintage steam locomotive, is in operation from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturdays and 1-6 p.m. Sundays at Heritage Park, 868 S.E. Main St., Simpsonville. Tickets are $2; children under 2 admitted free. Call 864-967-9533.
7. Leap of Faith Farm in Simpsonville needs volunteers ages 14 and up to assist with children in their therapeutic horseback riding program. No experience necessary. Contact Melissa Palotta at 864-351-9222 or melissapalotta@yahoo.com.
8. The Rosettes Line Dance Group teaches line dancing for people of any ability ages 50 and older. The group meets Mondays and Wednesdays at the Simpsonville Activity and Senior Center, 310 W. Curtis St., Simpsonville. Activities start at 10 a.m. Beginners start at 9 a.m. Call 864-967-9533.
9. Silver Chair fitness classes are held at 10:45 a.m. Tuesdays at Mauldin Sports Center on Butler Road next to the Mauldin Cultural Center. Participants must have a walking pass; wheelchairs are welcome. The Chair Yoga will follow the Silver Chair fitness class. Call 864-335-4875.
10. Bluegrass is featured Saturday nights at Owings Music Hall. Call 864-575-2538.
11. The Mauldin Sports Center, 10 City Center Drive, will host Fit Kids Summer Fun 2013 for children to age 14 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. weekday. Call 864-335-4875 or email Jennifer Edwins at jewdins@mauldinrecreation.com.
12. Get your tickets now! — KISS with special guest Leogun will perform at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 13 at the Charter Amphitheatre at Heritage Park, 861 S.E. Main St., Simpsonville. Tickets range from $125 to $35. Gates open at 6 p.m. Tickets are available through TicketMaster.
13. Discover Island Waterpark has resumed its summer schedule at Southside Park, 417 Baldwin Road, Simpsonville. Park will be open daily through Sept. 2. Visit greenvillerec.com.
