• Rabid skunk reported in Greenville County (thejournalonline.com) — A skunk found near Plum Orchard Court and Farmbrook Way in Simpsonville has tested positive for rabies, leading to one human exposure and a dog being euthanized. Health officials urge Simpsonville residents to avoid wild animals, keep pets’ rabies shots current, and call the state rabies hotline if they suspect contact with a possibly infected animal.
   

• Farm Fresh Fast addresses closures after Hurricane Helene losses, insurance denial (whosonthemove.com) — Simpsonville’s Farm Fresh Fast restaurant has closed following Hurricane Helene-related losses and a swiftly denied insurance claim, ending its downtown run that began in 2022. The shutdown cost local jobs and reduced business for area farmers, while the owner pursues a bad-faith lawsuit and advocates push for clearer commercial insurance coverage for small businesses.
   

• William 'Bill' Clyde Voyles (wgog.com) — Simpsonville readers are connected to this loss through resident Brian Voyles, whose father, William “Bill” Clyde Voyles, passed away December 17 at age 84. A devoted Baptist church member, Army veteran, and longtime supply manager, Bill is remembered for his faith, service, and love of family. Funeral services are set for Tuesday, December 23, in Seneca, with memorials requested to Hopewell Baptist Church.
