Families looking for a summer-break diversion should head to Heritage park this week.
Starting this Thursday evening, "Free Movies in the Park" kicks off an eight-week run at Heritage Park, said Jamie Ponder, of the Simpsonville Parks and Recreation Department.
The season starts with "The Hunger Games" being shown at 9 p.m. (gates open at 7:30 p.m.).
"There will be inflatables and concessions available. You can bring your own cooler, chair, or blanket," Ponder said.
The movie series will feature family-friendly movies each week for the next eight weeks. In addition to The Hunger Games, other movies slated include Puss N Boots, Despicable Me, Hotel Transylvania, Cars 2, The Hobbit, Happy Feet 2, and Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 1.
