Hundreds Beat The Heat At Simpsonville's Discovery Island
Here's a cool way to while away the rest of summer.
With no rain (yet) and plenty of heat, hundreds flocked to Greenville County Rec's Discovery Island Waterpark in Simpsonville on Tuesday.
Need a cool break and a day of fun before school season resumes? The waterpark, located inside Southside Park which also features playing fields, playgrounds, and tennis courts, is open daily through Sept. 2 at 417 Baldwin Road, off East Standing Springs Road, in Simpsonville.
Waterpark hours are 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 1-5:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Entry to Southside Park is free, but fees apply for the waterpark. Prices are $12 for people 48 inches and taller; $8 for persons 47 inches tall and under and Seniors; $4 for "Land Lovers"; and, children under 2 are admitted free.
In addition to all the daily fun, the Pro/Am FlowRider Tour is coming to Discovery Island on Aug. 11. Info on the event and to participate can be found here.
