Local Manufacturers Seeking Skilled Workers
Plants in Simpsonville, Greer and other areas announce openings. Meanwhile, a GE job fair is set for Friday.
A handful of Upstate manufacturers are looking for workers, including GE, Milliken and Sage Automotive, GSA Business reported.
MAU Workforce Solutions will will host a job fair, for the GE job openings only, on Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at McAlister Square, 225 S. Pleasantburg Drive, Greenville.
GE is looking to hire assemblers, manufacturing process operators, machinists, warehouse associates and heavy equipment mechanics.
Meantime, Milliken's Hillcrest plant in Simpsonville is looking for forklift operators, while Road and Rail in Greer is seeking vehicle handlers. Also, Sage's Gayley plant in Marietta is in search of transporters, the report said.
MAU is also seeking IT technicians, maintenance technicians and production associates in Spartanburg for undisclosed companies, the report said.
