Person killed when a car strikes a golf cart in Fountain Inn.

Update: July 20: An unidentified suspect has been apprehended in last night's fatal hit and run in Fountain Inn, according to WYFF. More details as they become available.

Original story: At least one person died Friday night when a car struck a golf cart, according to the Greenville County Coroner's Office.

The fatality has not yet been identified.

According to a Fox Carolina report, the collision happened Friday night when the golf cart was turning on to Weston Street from Quillen Avenue in Fountain Inn.

Four people reportedly were in the golf cart and were taken to a local hospital for treatment, said police.

Meantime, police are looking for the car that struck the cart. It was described as a red or burgundy Pontiac sedan. Investigators said it should also have front-end damage from the crash.
