Simpsonville Company Sold to Michigan Firm

Dye Packaging Services' owner says deal will help the Simpsonville company grow.

A Simpsonville-based packaging company has been acquired by a Michigan firm in a strategic move designed to help grow the business, it's owner said.

Dye Packaging Services, Inc., located at 130 Blakely Road in Simpsonville, announced this week that it has been acquired by Michigan-based packaging company M. Jacobs & Sons, Inc.

Terms of the deal were not released.

“We have seen a great deal of consolidation in the packaging industry by both distributors and suppliers, and I wanted to be sure to find the right strategic partnership that would allow me to stay active, grow the business and provide an opportunity for all of my employees to remain with the business,” Dye Packaging Owner Mark Dye said in a statement. “Combining with M. Jacob & Sons is that right fit."

M. Jacob & Sons, founded in 1885, designs and manufactures glass and plastic packaging products for the food and beverage, health, household, automotive, industrial and pharmaceutical sectors.

Dye also is a provider of bottles, sprayers, pumps, tubes and other containers for numerous industries.

“The addition of Dye Packaging now gives us nine locations throughout the eastern United States which will allow us to continue to build upon our over 125 years of success,” M. Jacob & Sons COO David Lubin said in a news release.
