Simpsonville Police: Pizza Delivery Man Savagely Beaten, Robbed
Simpsonville Police searching for gang of suspects who set up and ambushed victim.

A Simpsonville pizza deliveryman is recovering from a brutal beating after he was set up and ambushed in a strong-armed robbery Sunday afternoon, Simpsonville Police Chief Steve Moore told Patch.
The unidentified victim had to be admitted to Hillcrest Memorial Hospital for his injuries after four subjects lured him to Bridgeway Apartments on Richardson Street and beat and robbed him of $42 in the parking lot, Moore said.
The chief said investigators have a lead in the case, but he declined to give many details for fear of jeopardizing the case.
"It's very important we get this one right," Moore said. "The victim needs our help. We owe it to him."
Moore said he was unsure if the victim was still hospitalized, but said "he was badly beaten up."
According to an incident report, both the victim and the subjects had fled the scene by the time officers arrived, though a witness at the scene gave officers details of the incident. Moore said the subjects gave the unnamed pizza business a random apartment number for the delivery, and the person who resided there was unaware of the crime until contacted by police.
Officers said they eventually found the victim, who had fled to a home on Chatwood Court, and called EMS, which transported him to the hospital. The extent and nature of the victim's injuries were not given.
