Simpsonville Police Search for Burglar

Simpsonville Police are investigating a burglary last week in which a thief made off with thousands of dollars worth of jewelry and other items from a Simpsonville residence, a police report said.

A woman who lives at the residence with her roommate stated she first noticed someone had entered her home when she returned from work and opened her garage door and noticed the door to the house was wide open, the report said.

The woman said inside the home she found a kitchen drawer open and a broken off piece of her back door's lock on the floor, adding that the frame had been damaged. She pointed out a shoe print just under the lock on the outside where it had apparently been kicked in, the report said.

The report said that the thief or thieves stole approximately $10,000 worth  of jewelry, a $550 computer, and $200 worth of portable electronics.
